Services and Fees
Texas Government Code § 406.024 sets out the standard fees a Notary Public may charge for notary public services. In addition, § 406.111 sets out the fee of an online notarization.
All services (except online notarization) delivered by Liberty Notary Signing Services will incur a travel charge, which is separate from Texas Notary Fees.
Texas Notary Fees
Online Notarization (Base Charge) $25.00
An Online Notarization, also known as a Webcam Notarization, Remote Online Notarization or RON, is an electronic notarization conducted over the Internet, where a remote signer personally appears before a specialized Texas Online Notary Public, using live audio-visual technology. The digital document is electronically signed and notarized, meeting the standards adopted under Subchapter C. Chapter 406 of the Texas Government Code and Texas Administrative Code § 87.41.
Acknowledgment / Proof of Acknowledgement – first signature $6.00
Acknowledgment / Proof of Acknowledgement – each additional signature $1.00
An Acknowledgement / Proof of Acknowledgement is a certification that a signer personally appeared before the notary, was identified by the notary, and formally declared to the notary that the signer willingly signed the document for its intended purpose.
Jurat $6.00
A Jurat is a certification that a signer personally appeared before the notary with an unsigned document, was identified by the notary, was put under sworn oath or affirmation to attest the statements in the document were true, then signed the document is the presence of the notary.
Verification $6.00
A Verification is a certification that a signer personally appeared before the notary, was identified by the notary, acknowledged signing the document, was put under sworn oath or affirmation and verified the statements in the document were true.
Oath or Affirmation $6.00
The signer/witness personally appears before the notary and is identified by the notary. The notary administers an oath or affirmation, including completion of the notarial certificate and seal.
Deposition – swear in a witness $6.00
Taking the deposition of a witness .50/ 100 words
The deponent/witness personally appears before the notary and is identified by the notary. The notary swears in the deponent, including completion of the notarial certificate and seal. The notary transcribes the deposition, the fee is .50 for each 100 words.
Protests $4.00
Each additional notice of protest $1.00
Certified Copy of Non-Recordable Document – per certificate $6.00
A Certified Copy of a Non-Recordable Document is a certification that a document was presented to the notary by the document’s custodian, was photocopied by the notary, and is a true, exact, complete and unaltered copy. The document is neither a public record nor a publicly recordable document.
Certified Copy of Notarial Record – per page $0.50
A Certified Copy of a Notarial Record is a certification, pursuant to Texas Government Code § 406.014(c), that a preceding or attached document is a true, exact, complete and unaltered copy made by the notary of a notarial record, the original of which is held in the custody of the notary. The Texas Secretary of State suggests that all requests for copies of entries in a notary’s record book be made in writing through a certified letter to the notary’s official address on file. Requests should include the name(s) of the document signer(s), the type of document(s) signed, and the month and year of the notarization.
All Other Notarial Acts – not otherwise provided for $6.00
Performing any other notarial act or completing a certificate and seal not otherwise provided for under Texas Government Code § 406.024.
Form I-9 Verification Fees
Form I-9: Basic Verification Service $30.00
Liberty Notary Signing Services serves as an authorized agent of the employer. The agent (1) meets a remote hire employee to review Section 1 of their Form I-9 for completeness accuracy and readability, (2) physically examines employee-provided identification documents, ensuring the documents are acceptable in establishing both identity and employment authorization, (3) completes Section 2 of the Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification. Note: Unless otherwise instructed, the completed Form I-9 is returned to the employee. This is not a notarial act. A travel charge is additional.
Form I-9: Email Encrypted Copy of the Completed Form I-9 (optional add-on service) $15.00
Liberty Notary Signing Services creates an encrypted .pdf file of the completed Form I-9, which is emailed to the employer on the same day as service.
Form I-9: Email Encrypted Copy of the Employee-Presented Identification Documents (optional add-on service) $15.00
Liberty Notary Signing Services creates an encrypted .pdf file of the identification document(s) presented by the employee, which is emailed to the employer on the same day as service.
Form I-9: Document Package Drop Off Fee (optional add-on service) $20.00
This fee is for delivery of completed document packages to either UPS or FedEx Shipping Centers in Houston, Texas for customer pre-paid overnight shipping. Delivery to other shipping center locations may incur an increased fee.
Real Estate Closing / Loan Signing Fees
Real estate closing/loan signing package fees are not statutory fees and are listed separately from Texas Notary Fees.
Each real estate closing/loan signing is custom quoted, based on:
Scheduling and lead time
Total number of signers, including a non-borrowing spouse and any required witnesses
Representative capacity signers (attorney-in-fact for another individual, designated officer of an organization or legal entity, etc.)
Travel distance to the signing location
Conference room rental requirements (equity loans)
Timing of document delivery
Document package size
Printing requirements
Quantity and type of notarizations
Document scan back requirements
Completed document shipping requirements
Other unique transaction details.

Travel Charges
Travel charges are not statutory fees and are listed separately from Texas Notary Fees.
Express Mobile Service (09:00 a.m. to 08:00 p.m.) $25.00
Express Mobile Service is a discounted travel charge during regular business hours (9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.) to meet you at the Starbucks, located at 21830 Kuykendahl Rd, Spring, TX 77379 (.5 mi. west of Grand Pkwy), for 30 minutes of service. This charge is separate from Texas Notary Fees.
Standard Mobile Service (09:00 a.m. to 08:00 p.m.) $35.00
Standard Mobile Service is a travel charge during regular business hours (9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.) to meet you at a mutually agreed upon location (within 10 miles of Grand Pkwy @ Kuykendahl, Spring), for 30 minutes of service. Locations beyond 10 miles may incur an additional mileage surcharge. This charge is separate from Texas Notary Fees.
Late Evening Mobile Service (8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.) $70.00
Late Evening Mobile Service is a travel charge between 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. to meet you at a mutually agreed upon location (within 10 miles of Grand Pkwy @ Kuykendahl, Spring) for 30 minutes of service. Locations beyond 10 miles may incur an additional mileage surcharge. This charge is separate from Texas Notary Fees.
Night Owl Mobile Service (10:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.) $105.00
Night Owl Mobile Service is a travel charge between 10:00 p.m. and 12:00 a.m. (midnight) to meet you at a mutually agreed upon location (within 10 miles of Grand Pkwy @ Kuykendahl, Spring) for 30 minutes of service. Locations beyond 10 miles may incur an additional mileage surcharge. This charge is separate from Texas Notary Fees.
Overnight/Early Bird Mobile Service (12:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.) $140.00
Overnight/Early Bird Mobile Service is a travel charge between 12:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. to meet you at a mutually agreed upon location (within 10 miles of Grand Pkwy @ Kuykendahl, Spring) for 30 minutes of service. Locations beyond 10 miles may incur an additional mileage surcharge. This charge is separate from Texas Notary Fees.
Mileage Surcharge (>10 miles) per mile – one way $2.00
A mileage surcharge is applied when a customer-designated location for service is greater than 10 miles from Grand Pkwy @ Kuykendahl, Spring. Charged at $2.00 per mile (one way). This charge is separate from Texas Notary Fees.
Toll Charges $ variable $
TxTag tolls incurred (round trip) will be charged. The amount will vary, based on the location of service. This charge is separate from Texas Notary Fees.
Time Charges
Time Charges are not statutory fees and are listed separately from Texas Notary Fees.
Surcharge: Extended Appointment Time (each 15-minute segment) $15.00
Appointments for Express/Standard Mobile Service are scheduled for 30 minutes (unless otherwise noted in the estimate or invoice). Appointments extending beyond the scheduled time will incur a $15.00 surcharge, applied at the beginning of each additional 15-minute segment. This charge is separate from Texas Notary Fees.
Surcharge: Sunday Service $20.00
A surcharge is applied for service required on a Sunday. This charge is separate from Texas Notary Fees.
Miscellaneous Charges/Fees
Miscellaneous charges/fees are not statutory fees and are listed separately from Texas Notary Fees.
Conference Room Rental Fee $ Variable $
HELOC/equity cash back loan signings. Per the Texas Constitution, these types of loan closings are required to be closed at the office of an attorney, lender, or title company. If a conference room rental is needed, this charge will apply once scheduled, whether or not the closing is completed.
Document Package Print Fee (up to 125 pages x 2 copies) $25.00
Additional pages are billed at $0.10 each. Documents are printed immediately upon receipt. This fee is charged whether or not a transaction is completed.
Document Scan Back Fee (1-25 pages) $20.00
Normally related to a real estate transaction.
Document Scan Back Fee (26-50 pages) $35.00
Normally related to a real estate transaction.
Document Package Drop Off Fee $35.00
This is a delivery of completed document packages to either UPS or FedEx Shipping Centers in Houston, Texas for customer pre-paid overnight shipping. Delivery to other shipping center locations may incur an increased fee.
Notary Public Non-Notarized Form Completion $6.00
The notary public is requested to complete a form that is not notarized, related to a function performed by the notary public in a notary transaction. Forms of this type are normally generated by title companies, related to a real estate transaction.
Signers Acting in a Representative Capacity (Real Estate Closing/Loan Signing only) $25.00
Facilitating and journaling additional information for signers acting in a representative capacity. Examples include: attorney-in-fact for another individual, designated officer of an organization or legal entity, etc. (Fee per document package).
Document Resigning – Lender/Title Company E&O (≤5 pages) $65.00
Follow up visit requiring resigning of documents, due to Lender/Title Company errors & omissions. Five pages or less.

Cancellation Charges
Cancellation charges are not statutory fees and are listed separately from Texas Notary Fees.
Customer provides less than two hours’ notice for cancellation Full Original Fee
Cancellations made less than two hours from the scheduled appointment time will incur a cancellation charge equaling the full amount of the notary/Form I-9 Verification/Signing Agent Service fees and the associated travel charges, as documented in the estimate or invoice.
Customer No-Show Full Original Fee
A customer who is a no-show to a scheduled appointment will incur a cancellation charge equaling the full amount of the notary/Form I-9 Verification/Signing Agent Service fees and the associated travel charges, as documented in the estimate or invoice.
Customer Proof of Identity Issue Full Original Fee
Texas has specific identification requirements to all signing parties participating in a notarization transaction. Inability to complete a scheduled transaction, due to any signer identification issue (no valid identification credential issued by the federal government or any state government, containing their photograph and signature, inability to provide a credible identifying witness, etc.) will incur a cancellation charge equaling the full amount of the notary/Signing Agent Service fees and the associated travel charges, as documented in the estimate or invoice.
Customer Late Arrival – Unable to Complete Transaction Full Original Fee
Appointments are scheduled for 30 minutes, unless otherwise noted on the estimate or invoice. The late arrival of a customer which prevents a transaction from completing within the scheduled time frame (and the appointment cannot be extended, due to other scheduled appointments) will incur a cancellation charge equaling the full amount of the notary/Signing Agent Service fees and the associated travel charges, as documented in the estimate or invoice.
Customer Unwilling or Unable to Complete the Transaction Full Original Fee
Any scheduled transaction that fails to complete, due to the unwillingness or inability of a customer to complete the transaction (including not having qualified witnesses available, when required), will incur a cancellation charge equaling the full amount of the notary/service fee and the associated travel charge, as documented in the estimate or invoice.
